Frankfurt am Main, Germany 2005

The historical ensemble of buildings required a technically and aesthetically restrained approach to the light: the aim of the light design was to be appropriate to the period the ensemble was built and to likewise emphasize the same features that the lighting of that time would have highlighted. The warm light accentuates the defining elements of the façade, the decorative sculptures, and the window jambs. The light is supplied by LED lights, as their small size minimized the required level of intervention into the historic substance of the structure.
