Objects

Thomas Emde also uses colour in his objects as a material that can be designed autonomously, creating his own objects. For example, nub-like colour fields occupy the hollow spaces of profiled wooden and metal parts or cover the surfaces of plastic bodies as coloured fur. Colour, support and frame are thus in balance. Thomas Emdes objects not only oscillate between painting and object, but also give the elements of the classical panel painting a completely new order.
